Kingdoms Reborn is a city planning simulator where small medieval villages grow into huge cities, becoming centers of economic and cultural development with an impressive army and influence on the world stage. There is a single-player mode and multiplayer, in which you need to rebuild your settlement as quickly as possible, develop an army and conquer your opponent’s village, taking all his savings for yourself.

Switching to a new game opens the map generation editor menu, including area size, sea level, humidity, temperature, mountain density, number of players and difficulty. After which the player is thrown into an uninhabited area. There are small tutorial tips to help you understand the mechanics and basics of the game. The choice of location must be approached carefully, using filters that show the fertility of the land and the abundance of flora and fauna.

The backstory tells that in the past, the “Great Frost” attacked an established civilization, leaving behind only ruins and destruction. Not a single people could resist the cold and plague that swept the earth. Decades passed after these events, the ice melted, and courage and hope returned to people. Inspired by these feelings, they begin to rebuild their homes in order to recreate a new great civilization.

Gameplay in Kingdoms Reborn requires you to competently extract and distribute resources: wood for the construction of buildings, coal for heating in the winter, and stone for improving buildings, for greater profitability from them. The number of residents increases if you buy neighboring territories with already located houses, or with the development of an emigration center. The treasury's income consists of tax payments from the population and profits from buildings.
