Learning Factory tells about an unusual factory. Consumers have demand, and businesses try to satisfy them – that is the nature of every exchange. However, this all falls apart when the buyer is a cat because she has no idea what she wants. But the Martian cats have an idea of ​​what they want and how much they are willing to pay for it, and then an enterprising young factory builder can satisfy the needs of an endless stream of cat buyers. The hero sets out to do the impossible: create a working artificial intelligence model of the cat's mind to understand these bizarre animals.

In the Learning Factory, gamers have a wide open space, remnants of outdated equipment to help them get started, and a gate that brings in an endless supply of kittens to shop at the brick-and-mortar store. The space is far from what it should be, and it will take a lot of effort to achieve the goal. Next to an old cotton harvester sits some worn-out yarn, and after cleaning a few conveyor belts, everything is hooked up to turn the raw material into a finished product.

Exploring the area may reveal other old technology that is sure to be useful. Collecting destroyed equipment yields metal that can be used to make conveyor belts, and trees grow around to provide wood. Meanwhile, cats' needs are becoming more complex than balls of yarn, so new machines are needed to create more complex products that require more than cotton. All coins spent in the store go towards new technologies. The initial store is the simplest, everything is sold at a low preset price, but the first new market allows you to manually adjust prices. The gameplay also uses machine learning to create pricing models.
