Longhaus offers to become the manager of a barely nascent village in Nordic style. The catch, however, is the location of the settlement. It is not located on Earth, but on an island floating in the middle of the clouds. This imposes certain restrictions, because the amount of land and resources in such a place is very limited. The map is small and does not expand as you progress. In addition, there are holes in the surface, mountains and other landscape obstacles, which the settlers can only overcome by going around.

The first stage of Longhaus's gameplay is reminiscent of standard city-building simulators. In front of the player there is a main building, a few people and an unplowed field of resources. He should build farms, sawmills, new houses and other forges. This will open up new crafts and help hire more people. However, then comes the second stage of gameplay – protecting the village from barbarian raids. They range from ordinary little warriors to giants with battering rams, for example. And they have one goal – to plunder the settlement of the manager who has barely sat on the throne.

You will have to defend yourself not with the help of troops, as in strategies, but rather in the manner of the “tower defense” genre. The player has various types of security towers at his disposal. For example, archers, bombardiers, or even special magical structures that shoot lightning around. They automatically destroy robbers. In addition, by spending the right materials, they can be improved. For example, add the ability to a thunderstorm tower to send electricity through a chain.
