IN LUFTRAUSERS The main character expects hot battles with enemies in the open sky. The protagonist takes control of the plane. Its appearance is vaguely reminiscent of those specimens that were created by the Nazis as part of the Weapons of Retribution program. After a short training course, the user is sent on a combat mission. His opponents are other aircraft, as well as airships, boats, ships, submarines, and battleships. Moreover, sooner or later the passage ends with the death of the main character. So, by the time of his death, it is advisable for the user to have as many destroyed enemies and equipment on his account as possible.

Events in Luftrausers take place during the Second World War. In order to assemble an airplane, it is necessary to connect its component parts. These include the engine, fuselage and weapons. In total, the user can choose from 15 different modules. Thanks to them, you can assemble 125 types of a wide variety of aircraft. And each type has weapons that are lethal to the enemy. It is noteworthy that you can only fire weapons in the direction of the plane's movement. This forces the gamer to learn how to simultaneously control a flying combat unit and fire aimed shots.

Initially, the main character receives standard weapons. However, it can be modified and additional weapons can be unlocked. In this case, the selected combinations of aircraft types and weapons have a direct impact on the musical accompaniment. The main task of the protagonist is to survive among enemy forces that outnumber him. You have to fight against aircraft that are equipped with both piston and jet engines. The enemy even has experimental types of flying combat units.
