Hero Mafia 3 Lincoln Clay travels to New Bordeaux with the intention of seeing his loved ones and then going to work in a shipyard in California. The character of the open-world shooter himself is an orphan who, from the age of 2, was raised in an orphanage, after the closure of which, only one fate awaited him, like the bulk of the black population – gangsterism. The boy becomes a member of the black mafia that operates in the Delray Hollow area, led by Sam Robinson, which quickly becomes a real family for him. The orphaned boy receives a named father, Sam, whose son is his brother, and makes friends.

In 1966, the protagonist volunteers to join the US Army to take part in the Vietnam War. Upon returning to New Bordeaux, the hero learns that the black mafia has lost control due to a gang from Haiti, his named father owes the Italians a lot of money. Together with Ellis, his half-brother by blood, Clay kills the head of the Haitians and takes part in the Mardi Gras robbery. The guy must give the money to an Italian Mafia don named Sal Marcano, but he decides to kill all his brothers, and just take all the profits, and also completely take control of the entire city. The hero has no choice but to take revenge, so he calls on his army friend John Donovan to take away everything that is dear to him from the enemy.

The events of Mafia 3 unfold in a large and open world, made in the style of the 60s – 70s of the XX century. Here the user moves around the city with the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a car or sail on a boat. The town itself is divided into areas that are controlled by different mafia clans. The emphasis in the game is on the plot, and here you also have to take control of enemy territories. You have to go through missions alone – there is no multiplayer here, but there is the opportunity to establish friendly relations with individual factions that provide the protagonist with firepower if necessary.
