Mandinga: A Tale of Banzo tells the story of the adventures of two Africans in Brazil in 1826. During that era, slavery was widespread in this state. The protagonists are fighting for their freedom. Both characters were brought to a foreign country to work on sugar plantations. But they decide to escape and go in search of a place where there are no slave owners. The hero named Akil is an educated Muslim. He can read and write, and also has other knowledge. His partner Obadelê is a mighty and strong warrior who masters the martial art called capoeira. These men gradually gain experience and gain new levels, at the same time increasing their characteristics and learning skills.

Mandinga: A Tale of Banzo is a role-playing game with 2D pixel graphics. The title is inspired by old JRPGs. Therefore, while exploring the world, the camera is located on top and at an angle. When the battles begin, her perspective changes to a side view. The fights here are turn-based. The combat system is based on dice rolls. The equipment, weapons and skills of the combatants influence the outcome of the skirmish. They provide the opportunity to roll additional dice. You are allowed to use a maximum of 5 dice at a time. Enemies are represented by humans and wild animals. During brawls, you can combine the skills of different heroes to perform unique techniques. In addition to participating in fights, you can explore the area and chat with NPCs. Scenes with dialogues are made in the spirit of visual novels.
