Melancholy Love – a visual novel about the relationship between two students at a girls' school. The project touches on such topics as school bullying, pressure from peers and powerful parents, and the choice to give up a dream in order to be like everyone else. The main characters are, at first glance, complete opposites. One is the school president, an idol for students and an ideal student. The other is a bully, whom everyone avoids and cannot stand. Nevertheless, the girls begin to get closer, sensing that they are kindred spirits. Whether they will be able to realize their desires or will remain prisoners of imposed labels depends on the player.

The main characters of the novel are:

• Mian Xue is a student who has a reputation as a school bully. People around her are afraid of her, considering her a brat and a bitch, but in reality, Mian Xue is a kind and romantic girl. She refuses to play along with society, which, coupled with her perpetually frowning face and one tragic incident, has created a negative reputation for her.
• Qianxun is the top student in her class, one of the best students in school. The daughter of very powerful and strict parents, she is used to wearing the mask of an ideal girl. Only at night does she allow herself to ride a skateboard, giving free rein to her true desires and emotions.

Melancholy Love has 3 endings. They are determined by the choices the user makes during the characters' dialogues. This encourages careful attention to the heroines' words. After all, an incorrectly chosen phrase can easily lead to an ending that the player will not like. Otherwise, the plot is linear – minor choices can only affect secondary events. The novella has many dramatic moments and the central place is given to romance.
