Moonlighter invites you to immerse yourself in a new fictional world. Here, during one of the many explorations, people discovered the so-called Gate. These structures lead to new worlds, where daredevils and adventurers often go. The main character is the owner of a shop in a village located near one of these passages. His activities are conditionally divided into two parts. During the day he sells goods and makes a profit, and at night he goes out into the open world, exploring those same unexplored kingdoms. At the same time, Moonlighter does not offer any complex economic algorithms or simulator elements. Customers simply come to the store, where all the goods are laid out in advance and their prices are indicated. The character himself moves around the store at this time, and when someone wants to make a purchase, he approaches the table to complete the procedure. But force majeure can also happen (for example, someone wants to steal the goods). Due to such unforeseen circumstances, it is important to always be on alert.

As for exploring the world, in Moonlighter these very places that appear from portals are generated randomly. This means that with each subsequent outing the character will see something new. These can be forest glades, caves, labyrinths with constantly changing areas. Each of these worlds is inhabited by previously unseen creatures (slugs, skeletons and other evil spirits). Having dealt with them, you can easily go collecting loot. Each item that a character picks up is subsequently sent to the inventory. There, in a separate segment, the current characteristics of the character are shown, including armor, base damage, movement speed, armor, etc. The health reserve is displayed in the upper left corner, and in a critical condition, the scale begins to actively flash, urging you to stop the fight or recover with a potion.
