Nomad Fleet takes the player to an apocalyptic world and gives a great mission to accomplish. In the gameplay, you have to bring the remains of human civilization to a safe place where you can recover and build a new future for the race. It all started when an unknown extraterrestrial race began hunting people and almost completely destroyed them. The main character commands an armed fleet of battleships, fighting with opponents and trying to get to safe territory.

The gameplay is presented as a real-time strategy, where the user controls a fleet of futuristic ships and fights enemies, leading the team through dangers to the destination. The armed fleet of battleships, fighters and aircraft carriers can be improved and strengthened with the help of found resources. The gamer will need to extract materials, dismantle ships and collect asteroids to increase the fleet and build new ships, get modifications and improve equipment.

As the player progresses, more aspects of the story are revealed about a mysterious alien race that has hunted humanity for over a hundred years. During the journey, the human team will meet neutral or friendly alien races, and will solve difficulties through diplomacy or military action. In the campaign, the main goal is to reach the last sector on the galactic map. Levels randomly generate encounters, loot, and the difficulty of each battle.
