Open Sewer is a mixture of role-playing game and survival simulator. Unlike other similar titles, here the events take place not far from civilization, but on the territory of a large metropolis. Or rather, in its slums. A battered man who suffers from addiction and depression was chosen to play the role of the main character. The goal is to help him out of poverty. The protagonist needs finances to buy food, cigarettes and booze. Money is earned in different ways. You can grow mushrooms, collect bottles, brew and sell moonshine, renovate a half-abandoned house and rent out rooms in it. In the video game, you can switch the camera between first and third person views.

Open sewer is not just a product name. Also, local residents use slang to nickname the run-down area Stalburg Obenseuer in which they live. The video game is related to another title from the same developers – INTRA. Both projects take place in the Stalburg universe. However, this is not a sequel, but a spin-off. The creators call their setting Concretepunk. The gloomy and disturbing atmosphere is sometimes diluted with humorous moments. In this indie project, you can chat with NPCs and choose lines in dialogues, interact with the environment, pick up things, use items from your inventory, and complete quests. There is a change of day and night.
