Oxygen Not Included – Spaced Out! adds new challenges, maps and materials to the gameplay. According to the plot, the gamer plays the role of the leader of a space colony. Under his care is a group of people called duplicants. The main task is to ensure, if not prosperity, then at least the stable survival of the settlement. And this is much more difficult than it might seem at first glance. Firstly, the action takes place not on life-rich worlds, but on asteroids. Therefore, there is not even an atmosphere to which the human body could adapt. Secondly, people regularly need resources, which encourages them to constantly make forays to get them.

In addition, duplicates have the following features:

• Each village has its own individual characteristics. By taking this into account, you can effectively distribute tasks among those who are best able to perform them. If a character can quickly dig a ditch, then it is better to give him a shovel and send him to the appropriate job.
• However, the number of tasks that Oxygen Not Included – Spaced Out! colonists can perform is limited. This is justified by the fact that for every action people waste oxygen and inhale poisonous gas instead. Therefore, duplicants can die from suffocation if you entrust them with too many tasks.
• In addition, it is important to ensure that the settlers have a good time. Excessive amounts of stress will lead to nervous breakdowns and discomfort, so people need rest, good food and entertainment.
