Pascal's Wager: Definitive Edition takes the player into the world of dark fantasy, where on the way from one settlement to another you can stumble upon a gang of criminals or otherworldly aggressive creatures. The first thing the player encounters is a cut-scene depicting the nightmare of one of the five main characters – the courier Terrence. Each character has their own characteristics, personality, strengths and weaknesses, and a backstory that tells how they ended up in the position in which the gamer sees them.

Main playable characters in Pascal's Wager:

• Terrence – renounced the title of knight, perfectly handles a straight sword and a cane sword. Set out on a journey to find his missing wife Teresa, who appears to him in visions hanging from a tree.
• Viola is a young girl, the protagonist’s first companion, a marksman. As a child, she was constantly subjected to ridicule and bullying from her peers, which strengthened her character, made her colder and harsher, although at heart she is kind, she will always help in difficult times and will not leave her in trouble.
• Teresa, a witch, has long red hair braided and mysterious tattoos all over her body. Wanders the lands of the Church in search of unusual artifacts, bringing death, grief and destruction with him. The government expelled her, and now the girl wants to take revenge on them.
• Benita is a nun who sincerely believes in God; she wears a white bandage over her eyes, since she gave up her sight to save her friend from execution, thereby mitigating her sentence. In battle he wields the cross-flail “Monastration”.
• Norwood is a very suspicious man, an excellent defense specialist, uses a coffin as a shield, which can absorb blows and release this energy during retaliatory attacks. In order to obtain such a powerful weapon, without hesitation he cut off his own hand and connected himself to the weapon.

The gameplay involves exploring locations, collecting various items to improve skills that will be needed for battles with bosses and ordinary opponents. After death, the character loses some of the collected souls, which immediately disappear. You cannot run up and pick them up again. For battles, weak and strong attacks, evasion and block are used, which is not always effective against particularly fierce opponents and can be broken through.
