Events Prince of Persia: Warrior Within take place 7 years after the events of the previous part. Here the prince realizes that he is being hunted by a mysterious monster known as Dahaka. The hero asks for advice from the sage, who says that the one who changes his destiny must die, because in this way the established balance collapses. Since the guy escaped his intended death, the mission as the guardian of time is to ensure his death in the manner originally intended. The old man also talks about the Island of Time, where the Empress of Time created the Sands. The Prince travels to the Island in an attempt to prevent the creation of the Sands, which he believes will appease Dahak.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is packed with parkour combined with epic combat. The game world is not linear; the gamer constantly returns to familiar places many times from different directions, often crossing time portals to find himself in the same places in the present and past. Secret areas allow you to gain extra health points and unique weapons that can damage Dahaka, unlocking the game's canonical ending. At times you will have to fight off Dahaka while moving through corridors filled with traps to hide.

The gameplay allows you to use both blades at the same time, using the environment. A total of fifty-eight additional weapons are available and the prince's own acrobatic abilities are available to dispatch enemies with ease. There are plenty of the latter in the game – in addition to strong bosses, there are sand monsters of different sizes that attack alone or several at once. As a result of the passage, the user expects two endings.
