Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus proposes a process based on the manipulation of gravity. Familiar weapons such as the Fusion Grenade and Warmonger return, accompanied by new additions such as the Winterizer, capable of freezing opponents in place. The OmniBlaster provides fast, close-range shooting, while the Nightmare Box frightens enemies with a variety of eerie shapes.

Skill points, cheats and gold bolts are still key. The Repulsor gadget keeps opponents in the air, adding another layer of combat strategy. Gravity plays a crucial role in providing access to otherwise inaccessible places. Clank participates in mind-bending 2D segments known as Voidverses, featuring complex labyrinths in which Void entities are pursued.

Familiar faces from the series return, including Zephyr, Kronk, Talwyn, Captain Qwark and the Plumber, as well as the notorious Bandit-4-No army. The beloved Intergalactic Arena, later renamed Destructurepalooza, makes another appearance. Raritanium serves as a weapon upgrade currency, allowing players to upgrade their arsenal. The game is designed for different skill levels and has three difficulty levels: Cadet, Hero and Legend, as well as an additional challenge mode for the truly brave.
