Republique VR – is a first-person stealth action game made for virtual reality headsets. It was originally released on smartphones. After porting, the controls were adapted for motion controllers. In addition to being focused on VR devices, the project differs from other representatives of the genre in its gameplay. Here, the user cannot directly control the main character, as in other similar video games. Instead, the player kind of passively participates in the story, watching everything from the side and simply helping the heroine. There is also an atypical save system. To save, you need to find a special room and use the cassette found in it, which will then disappear. Thus, the number of saves is limited. The gameplay is based on stealth exploration of maps, collecting useful items and solving puzzles.

The game Republic VR has a full-fledged plot. The action takes place in the near and gloomy future, where the government conducts strict surveillance of almost all citizens and harshly punishes them. The plot begins with a call from a girl named Hope to her friend (controlled by the player). She asks him for help, after which security forces break into the young woman's home and take her to prison. The gamer needs to save the lady before she is executed on charges of reading some “infected” files. The gamer is given the role of a hacker friend. He watches the protagonist with the help of cameras and tells her where to run. The user can switch between video cameras to reconnoiter the situation and hack devices to distract and lock up enemies. The main task is to help your ward get out of the underground facility.
