Return to Kurgansk will take the player to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of a post-Soviet city. Several years ago, humanity tried to find a source of endless energy, but the research led to a man-made disaster. The lands around Kurgansk were scorched by radiation, and those who were lucky enough to survive turned into terrible mutants. The main character, by chance, had to come here, but in order to get back, he will have to fight his way through. The monsters are endless, and weapons and ammunition are limited…

The explored areas are varied, the open world allows you to move in any direction. Infected people walk the streets of the city, and deadly anomalies are found in alleys and cemeteries. The seemingly abandoned military base holds many mysteries and dangerous secrets. After all, it is from there that the unknown survivor communicates with the protagonist through a walkie-talkie and gives him clues that allow him not to die and to find answers.
