It all starts in ancient times. The protagonist searches for and extracts valuable resources. They are needed in order to found and build a city. This settlement is a key building during the passage. After this, infrastructure and technological innovations develop. The gamer can even build wonders of the world. An important aspect is military strength. This will prevent the enemy from capturing what was created with so much effort. In addition, with the help of the army it is possible to carry out offensive operations in order to capture new territories. The game has a wide variety of military equipment – from copies in ancient times to nuclear weapons in our time.

After constructing a city in the Rise of Nations, it is necessary to draw national boundaries. This territory is the complete property of the protagonist. Outside national borders, the main character cannot act independently, since in this case he will face a decrease in the number of unit lives. In order to build structures and create units, you need to find valuable resources. These include oil, wood, iron, gold, food, knowledge. There are a lot of resources, so the main character needs to pay increased attention to economic connections.
