Rise to Ruins can be called a unique project, because it combines the mechanics of several genres at once. At the heart of everything is a city planning simulator, which involves creating your own settlement, but in addition, the gamer will be involved in the distribution of resources, conduct tactical battles, as well as take care of the population and ensure the protection of buildings. Genre fans will definitely notice details borrowed from other projects, but here they have been multiplied and presented in a different interpretation.

Although the visual design in Rise to Ruins looks primitive, there is nothing superfluous here. Each element is displayed in a separate icon. This applies to all types of buildings and their parts. Just click on it once, then simply select a place on the map and start building. At the same time, the system will show whether it is possible to place this or that object on the ground in accordance with its dimensions. You can build both premises for residents, as well as mechanisms (for example, a water purifier) ​​or decorative objects (fountains of various sizes). Each house or fortification requires a certain amount of resources for construction, so you should make sure that they are available in advance.

As for the battles, they take place at night. Then, monsters attack the settlement, and the gamer must repel waves of undead. To do this, you can use both brute force (armed soldiers) and magic (earthquakes, hurricanes, lightning strikes, etc.). If residents are attacked by the creatures, they will turn into ghosts. In this form, they can be resurrected, and they will begin to restore the damaged areas of the earth. If you wish, you can change the game mode to Peaceful (no monsters) or Nightmare (more hardcore). The world map is divided into several regions (deserts, forests, etc.) that can be explored and settlements placed there. You can choose a ready-made map or create your own by placing the boundaries of the regions yourself.
