Risk of Rain starts with choosing a character. There are 12 options to choose from. However, they will open gradually as you progress, starting with Commandos. Each warrior has special skills and characteristics. Some of them can shoot from long distances, but do so slowly. Others, on the contrary, move with lightning speed, but must be close to the enemy to strike.

The gameplay is divided into several levels. In each of them you need to find a teleport. The exception will be the last stage. On the way, the user will encounter many monsters. When defeating them, the hero gains invaluable experience and also replenishes his reserves of money. As the fighter develops, new skills and attack combinations will appear. They deal more powerful damage. The earned currency can be spent in the store, buying various equipment or choosing chests. There is also the opportunity to pray at the sanctuary. In this case, the player will receive a random item. The developers have added about 110 of them. Using them, various bonuses are activated. For example, they will strengthen the attack or strengthen the defense.

The difficulty of Risk of Rain is determined by a timer. It appears after the teleporter is launched. In the easier version, 90 seconds are counted, and in more difficult ones – 120. During this time you need to survive while fighting an army of opponents.
