The action takes place in 2030 in the closed research city of Rokumei. Here, far from populated areas, tests are carried out with nuclear weapons and energy in order to reduce the consumption of natural resources. But one day an accident occurred and several explosions occurred. To find out the situation and fix the breakdown, a special Sirius squad was sent, which after a short period of time was inside the center. But during the inspection, it turned out that the nuclear reactor had heated up too much, and within a minute the safety system was activated to completely block the release of dangerous radiation, but people were still inside. The heroes were locked up and the forecasts for them were completely disappointing.

In Root Double -Before Crime * After Days, literally everything is limited, including the lifespan of the characters themselves, whose protective equipment is not enough, which means someone will have to die or come up with a reliable plan. The protagonists are under constant stress and sometimes their actions are uncontrollable. Sometimes they make decisions on their own, based on the player's previous behavior.
