Walking simulator Runo focuses on overcoming obstacles and finding the protagonist's path. The story is inspired by Finno-Karelian folklore, and as the player travels, he learns more myths, secrets, and notes left by previous owners and inhabitants. Most of the gameplay is presented in the form of normal walking, during which you can inspect the environment and interact with the outside world by reading notes or messages.

The game Runo has a plot filled with secrets and a forgotten past connected with the past inhabitants of abandoned lands. The journey begins in an old family cottage in the Finnish countryside. The main character learns and brings to life long-lost legends, ancient tales and stories of impossible events. When Midsummer happens, the protagonist notices a turbulent phenomenon that disturbs the peace of the surroundings.
