Saints Row: Gat out of Hell continues the story of adventures in the world of angels and demons. The plot begins during the celebration of the name day of Kinzie Kensington, known from the previous parts of the series. The celebration takes place on a spaceship with the Third Street Saints. During the party, friends meet a random man who claims that his daughter is about to become the bride of the Saints Boss. Afterwards the Boss is pulled into a portal that leads straight to Hell. Johnny and Kinzie rush after him to find and save the Boss.

Available to play as Johnny and Kinzie, the gameplay takes place in a third party. In Hell, comrades encounter humanoid demons and old acquaintances. An innovation in this series of games is “angel flight”, with the help of this technique the character can rise into the air for some time. After completing tasks, the “Wrath of Satan” scale is filled, which unlocks unique abilities and videos for players. The characters have access to an assortment of weapons symbolized by the 7 deadly sins.

• Kinzie Kensington, the main character, sets off. He holds the position of first lieutenant for the Saints.
• Johnny Gat is the main character, Kinsey's comrade in arms. He holds the position of computer technician.
• The boss is the head of the organization, the President of the United States. Kidnapped by Satan and sent to Hell.
• Satan, the main villain, kidnaps the Boss after learning about the marriage with his daughter.
• Jezebel is Satan's only child and is engaged to the Boss.
• Dane Vogel is the antagonist of the previous parts, founded the Ultor company in Hell, and helps the heroes at the beginning of the game.
