Sakura Spirit – The visual novel tells the story of Gushiken Takahiro, a 17-year-old boy who strives to become a top judo athlete and represent his country Japan in the world championships. Growing up as a talented and popular athlete, he gets this opportunity. Gameplay begins when there are a few weeks left before the tournament.

The main character decided to check the advice of his friends, who told him to find a mysterious temple in the forest. Inside the ancient structure, he can gain spiritual power, which will help him win the tournament. Before the upcoming match, he begins to pray to get good luck. A spirit appears next to him and tells Gushiken to be transported to another world, where he must play a more important role, both in his own and in other people's lives. In an unknown dimension, the central character meets fox girls.

Having begun to explore the environment and learn various information, he realizes that he is in feudal Japan, but the area is full of spirits and unusual phenomena and creatures. The plot is based on how Takahiro tries to help people and spirits who are in conflict with each other. He spends a lot of personal time with the girls and tries to find his way back home. As he acts, he changes the fate of this world, which will help him grow as a warrior in the present and parallel dimensions.
