IN Secret Neighbor You have to rescue your friend from imprisonment in a neighbor's basement in the Hello Neighbor universe. The action takes place between the two previous games in the series. The new story revolves around the fact that Nicky Roth's friends have to rescue him from Mr. Peterson's fortress. The complexity of the operation is added by the fact that there is a disguised traitor in the group, who is the very villain. This is a multiplayer game designed for 6 gamers at the same time.

There are 8 heroes to choose from (Detective, Inventor, Bagger, Brave, Leader, Scout, Clown), but they open up as you progress and accumulate in-game currency. Each of them has their own skill, character and set of clothes that can be purchased and changed. Musical accompaniment is only in the menu section. It is presented with a cheerful, simple melody. During the gameplay itself, only sound effects are heard: screams, steps, creaking boards, the noise of falling things, and breathing, especially after the characters run.

The actions take place at night, so you will have to use a flashlight for lighting, especially when going deep into the mansion. Locations in Secret Neighbor are represented by two completely different houses, with many interactive objects and traps. As you progress, you need to solve riddles, run away from your neighbor, throw objects at him or stun him. You can't kill him. The antagonist is controlled by the gamer, at this moment he sets traps, tries to intimidate, deceive and quietly sneak up on the lagging protagonist in order to take him out of the competition. Peterson's main task is to prevent the kids from achieving their goal.
