Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is the 3rd part of the reboot of games about Lara Croft. This time, the developers decided to take a bigger swing, and events will develop in several countries at once and even in different historical periods. According to the plot, the heroine, together with her partner Jonah, are spying on the Order of Trinity in order to be the first to obtain a powerful artifact. But everything goes awry with the appearance of a new antagonist – Doctor Dominguez. He takes the dagger for himself and says that Lara’s act has started a series of disasters, where the end of everything will be the death of the sun. You can stop all this by combining a dagger with a silver casket, and the girl must stop him.

The gameplay mechanics of Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition repeat the previous parts, adding several features to them. Now, in order to hide from opponents, you can smear yourself with mud. Stealthy passage will become a priority, because finishing moves using an ax or killing with a bow from a long distance have become more effective. In addition, by learning a certain skill, you can secretly kill two opponents at once, without the risk of being detected. Movements have been diversified by running along walls using a rope and a hook, and swimming underwater is now necessary not only to complete story segments. Sometimes you have to dive underwater to get to the next tomb, and this aspect is worked out here much better than in previous parts.

The mention of several time periods was not added by chance. In this way, not only is Lara's childhood revealed, but the puzzle-solving mechanics are also implemented. For example, in some situations, a scene from the past will help identify elements needed for use in the present. Some of the puzzles must be solved with the help of Jonah, who will help drag large objects. One way or another, the number of additional game elements has increased.
