ShadowFlare is an action role-playing game with an isometric camera. At the very beginning, the player is given the choice of a male or female character. The protagonist can fight up close, use ranged weapons, and cast spells. The more often the user performs the same actions, the faster the corresponding parameter for his ward is pumped. Different specializations become available as you level up. Initially, the gamer controls a mercenary. When he gains enough levels, he can unlock a new specialty and turn his protégé into a different class of fighter.

There are a total of 4 professions available in the game:

• Mercenary – initial specialization, which changes after receiving level 5;
• Hunter – increases movement speed as you level up and uses bows without penalties;
• Wizard – gets access to magic before anyone else, and can also learn and use any spells;
• Warrior – surpasses everyone in terms of health and constantly increases the size of HP, and also knows how to perform combo attacks.

In Russian translation, the title is known as Invasion of Darkness. It has another alternative title – Shadow Flare: Episode One. This is an attempt by Japanese developers to make their own Diablo clone. It was developed using an episodic model. The creators were able to release 4 episodes out of 6 planned. This product has one feature. The hero does not wander alone, but is accompanied by a wolf. The pet can be used to collect loot or as a tank. Events take place in a world overrun by demons. The adventurer fights goblins and other fantasy creatures, becomes stronger, chats with civilians, completes their quests, and finds or buys cooler equipment.
