IN Shelter The player controls a mother badger who escorts her five children from their cozy old burrow to their new home. The female must protect the cubs from various dangers that may await their family. During the journey, the feeling of hunger slowly awakens in the children. To satisfy it, the player must find food by catching predators (such as foxes) or finding fruits and vegetables. Threats to the life of the offspring appear from different sides and you will constantly have to fight for your life under conditions of natural selection.

The main task during the gameplay is to ensure the survival of the female and save her cubs from all the misfortunes that await them during the journey. While playing Shelter, the player will have to constantly fight off the attacks of birds of prey that circle around and can fly in and grab the cubs if they are in the open area for too long. You will have to play through the game not only during the day, but also at night, when the heroine has a limited ability to see the world around her. In this part, children will be frightened by noises and run away from their mother. She, in turn, will have to urgently return them before they go beyond a safe distance from their mother. One of the missions involves a family escaping through a forest fire, where the gamer will have to protect the children of the heroic badger from the fire. But the real nightmare begins when the children need to be transported across a stormy river.
