IN Silence of the Sleep the player will play the role of Jacob Reeves, a man who has lost interest in life. He wants to end his own suffering, which is why he throws himself into the dark abyss. Instead of achieving the desired death, he finds a new beginning, waking up with no memory of his past life. The gameplay is a mixture of psychological horror and puzzle, where you have to explore the environment and interact with objects.

The main character travels through the abstract world of Silent Dream, where he tries to get to the true reason for his stay here. The perspective is presented with a side view and the environment in a 2D style. The interface is minimalistic and does not display any health bars or scales. This helps you focus on your surroundings and exploration of the mysterious world. On the way you will meet dangerous monsters and unusual creatures.

To stay alive, the central character hides or avoids direct confrontation with potentially dangerous creatures. He doesn't know how to fight, so his only hope is to escape or find a good place to hide. Encounters with enemies are rare. Most of the gameplay is devoted to solving logic problems, finding objects and moving along the storyline. Some opponents will pursue him as he progresses through the entire location.
