After a successful operation to destroy the nucleus of mutants on Earth, Eve was infected with parasites of those same mutants. They began to gradually fill her body. The team leaves the Earth to head to the native planet of Eve, Sofia, in the hope of finding a medicine.

The gameplay in the Blaster Master Zero 2 consists in the sequential movement between locations with a gradual study of the environment and the destruction of opponents. Gamer controls Sofia – a wheel tank equipped with powerful weapons. Over time and as the main plot passes it, it can be improved by opening new functions and the best weapons. At the same time, the tank moves like a real character. It can cling to the walls, and then jump, starting from them, or use the traction to take off a short distance. In addition, enemies constantly appear on locations, which is why you have to constantly use the firearm. In one of the branches of pumping, you can open special skills, with which you can apply several times more damage. But they need to use them competently, because they spend the main supply of energy. It can be restored by choosing containers directly at the levels, or waiting for automatic replenishment.
