Sonic Colors: Ultimate – a platformer and another game in the Hedgehog series, telling about the adventures of a blue hedgehog. In this part, the main character finds himself in orbit of his home planet, where extraterrestrial inhabitants live, using endless reserves of energy. Dr. Eggman is once again attempting to carry out an evil plan that will wipe out a race of alien creatures and give him control of significant resources.

Sonic is helped by his friend Tails, and as they progress they will meet other minor characters. Together they will have to prevent the looming threat in the form of a doctor who used a giant ray to unite several worlds. He created many henchmen and robots that the main characters will fight with while they get to the antagonist. The Wisps, a threatened race, will often aid their saviors.

As in previous games in the franchise, the gameplay focuses on the dynamics of what is happening and platforming elements. The user controls a fast Sonic, capable of destroying enemies and overcoming numerous obstacles. Sometimes there are moments with a transition between the three-dimensional and two-dimensional versions, changing the mechanics and rules. The amusement park created by Eggman consists of 7 play areas. Each region includes 6 acts with multiple levels, themed enemies and unlockable upgrades.

The main task at the levels is to reach the control point, passing deadly obstacles. The Speed ​​drift function allows you to take sharp turns without losing speed. Quick step is necessary for moving laterally on the move. Sonic boost is an ability that makes Sonic invulnerable while running fast. Along the way, the main character collects rings that save him from attacks or collisions with traps. Collecting rings helps improve abilities or purchase additional items.
