The protagonist had to flee his home planet several generations ago due to a disaster. But the new house turned out to be too unsuitable for normal existence. The lands are very poor and depleted, so nothing grows on them. Famine began, strife began, and the once friendly civilization found itself on the brink of war and death. Everyone has forgotten that such housing was previously considered temporary, and now they perceive it as a terrible, but dear home where they grew up. The protagonist realizes that he will not last that long and decides to delve into the history of these areas and who lived here before. The more he travels and studies, the more similarities he finds with his ancestors.

In Space Gliders, a lot depends on what kind of relationship the player builds with the inhabitants of the settlement. After all, he has a family and all conflicts affect not only him, but also his relatives, which can affect the further development of history. Besides, through the right contacts, even the sky is not the limit. Perhaps there are still old space shuttles somewhere, suitable for repair and flight.
