Spark in the Dark is an isometric dungeon crawler. There are 5 character classes available in the game. The user selects one hero and wanders around the dungeon in real time. The user may encounter monsters, equipment, secret places or deadly traps in locations. With each new run, levels are generated randomly. Procedural generation is responsible for the order in which enemies appear. Loot, stats and equipment also depend on randomness. Equipment needs to be repaired regularly because this is where items wear out. The fighter can deal different blows to monsters with different melee weapons. Performing attacks consumes your stamina bar.

The adventurer is able to interact with the environment. Sometimes he has to face a skill test. The abilities themselves are upgraded automatically as you use them. The more often a gamer uses a specific skill, the faster the corresponding skill improves. The adventurer may receive injuries, blessings, and curses. Spark in the Dark is set in a dark fantasy setting. The action takes place in a gloomy Dungeon, full of treasures and dangerous creatures guarding the loot. There are terrifying legends about this ancient place. Points of interest, notes and diaries are scattered throughout the catacombs. They must be sought to understand the background. There are about 100 objects in the game that reveal the lore.
