STAR OCEAN – THE LAST HOPE – the fifth game in the action series of the same name, where the user is asked to control a team of adventurers who travel through outer space, engage in battles with enemies and interact with NPCs. The task is to explore the Galaxy, trying to save the Universe from imminent destruction.

The events of the RPG start long before the history that occurred in its predecessors, and take the user to 2087, in the era after the Third World War.
