Still Not Dead can be called an attempt to cross a retro shooter with a simplified roguelike. The title has a first-person view and pixel graphics. The indie project has a destructible environment. To complete the campaign you need to overcome 6 procedurally generated stages. After appearing at the location, the hero must kill the number of monsters indicated on the screen. Then a passage will open to the next level, which you still have to reach. If the protagonist hesitates, Death will appear and begin to pursue him everywhere. It is impossible to kill this particular enemy, and therefore all you can do is run away from him. However, running uses up your stamina. A fighter has only one life. If his health bar reaches zero, he will die. And then you have to start the whole race again.

Still Not Dead has both melee and ranged weapons. The arsenal includes 30 types of weapons and items. You can throw grenades and Molotov cocktails, swing an ax and barbed wire, shoot crossbows, revolvers, machine guns, use plasma rifles or blasters, and so on. Equipment can be found on the ground or bought with money given for killing monsters. There are also first aid kits and cartridges. There are also 40 types of blessings and curses that give different skills. They can be selected during breaks between stages. As you try to complete levels, new skills are unlocked, making subsequent playthroughs more varied.
