Super Gigadroid throws the player into space, where he will have to fight with various opponents and acquire bonuses for the gigadroid. The gameplay is typical of the metroidvania genre with action and platforming. The passage begins with easy levels, teaching the user how to control and interact with the environment. Gradually, the difficulty increases noticeably, introducing new enemies and traps.

By fighting enemies in space, the gigadroid increases its level, upgrades new abilities and gets better equipment. Subsequent stages are more difficult than the previous ones, but have good items to unlock. There are 3 game modes available: easy, medium and hard. There are 20 collectible characters and story passages to unlock. Gamers can compete with each other to achieve the best results at certain levels.

Each bonus unlocks an additional ability, weapon, or stat for the central character. Each level has 1 to 2 rare items. They help destroy opponents, overcome obstacles or survive in difficult situations. The user can collect bonuses such as a rocket launcher, giga rocket, energy tanks, a card hacking device, a powerful shot, speed boots, a power ball and much more.
