The Anacrusis is a cooperative shooter with a first-person view. Multiplayer is only available online. It can accommodate a maximum of four people. The main feature of the indie project is its setting. This FPS uses a retrofuturism setting. In the story, a spaceship crashes on an unknown planet. After an unsuccessful landing, the four surviving people begin to fight the aliens that got inside the starship and infected the crew. The environment, technology, gadgets and other objects are made exactly as science fiction writers imagined them in the 1970s. The arsenal is represented by laser and plasma weapons. There is a pistol, machine gun, shotgun, turret, bombs and 3 types of rifles. Gamers can bring fallen comrades back into the game using the Resurrectionist.

The Anacrusis provides a choice of 2 heroes and the same number of heroines. You can play as Gaion, Lance, Nessa and Liu. They differ only in appearance. Their appearances can be customized. All fighters can create energy explosions that knock back enemies. The gameplay is reminiscent of the Left 4 Dead series, only here players are attacked by crowds of aliens instead of hordes of zombies. Among the opponents there are bosses. Each leader requires a different approach. The AI ​​driver is responsible for the behavior of all enemies. He tries to adjust the difficulty to the skill of the users and decides where to spawn weapons, first aid kits or monsters. There are also matter compilers scattered throughout the locations.
