Events The Darkness 2 develop two years after the previous part. Jackie remains the main character. Now he holds the position of mafia boss. He decided to start a war with gangsters. He had a clear advantage, but the ancient order decided to intervene in this confrontation. This Brotherhood was created thousands of years ago and its main goal is to protect the world from the consuming Darkness. However, over time, their ideals have been erased, their souls have turned black, and now they are eager to gain power. Now the mafiosi have to protect their forces from ill-wishers.

A special feature of The Darkness 2 will be the presence of two realities. For the purpose of self-defense, the Darkness created a special place where Jackie ends up instead of dying. This is a mental hospital where everyone around you either works there or is undergoing treatment. This solution helped to avoid death for a long time, but Victor, the head of the order, was able to get a special device. It was created by an Angel and is capable of killing the hero by destroying the created illusion. The attacker almost managed to bring his plan to an end, but the Bes, who sided with the protagonist, at the cost of his own life, helps him take control of the situation. In the finale, the dead girl Jackie appears and asks to stay with her. At this moment, the gamer has to make an important decision.

The game provides two endings. The first one suggests accepting and staying. This way Estacado can be reunited with his beloved. In the second version, the hero committed suicide and went to Hell. After brutal, lengthy battles, it turns out that all this was a specially designed game. After revealing all the secrets, the hero is left to suffer in the underworld.
