IN The Darkside Detective: Season 2 the player is transported to the 34th city of the United States, which is home to a huge number of ghosts and abnormal things, where he has to solve 6 cases filled with cruelty, humor and mysticism. The game perfectly combines laughter and adventure, horror and mystery. The gameplay consists of solving puzzles, completing mini-games, and conducting dialogues with residents. The main character constantly comments on what is happening and helps with minor hints, such as what next move to make for successful completion, what you should pay attention to.

The story continues exactly where it left off in the first part. Officer Patrick Dooley has been wanted for a year now, and Francis McQueen is desperately trying to find him. All upcoming tasks are displayed in the form of a window on the computer, and folders located in it with a number, but a hidden name. These stories are as strange as they are fascinating, not dull affairs, but rather bizarre situations that McQueen and his partner Dooley accidentally find themselves in. In addition to the characters from the first part, Mystic Meg, the vengeful Nikola Tesla, and the nanny – a real fake psychic – have been added.

The design in The Darkside Detective 2, represented by pixel graphics, decorated in pleasant pastel colors. Passing through the levels takes place both on the streets of a completely ordinary city, in a detective’s apartment, and in the otherworldly, parallel world. At the same time, various strange things can happen in the real world: everything is covered in green fog, furniture begins to levitate. The musical accompaniment is represented by slow and frightening compositions by Thomas O'Boyle, which perfectly maintain the atmosphere of mystery.
