The plot unfolds in 2016, when the main character Nick acquired a house in which he once lived with his family. Now he settled there with his family, and at one point in their house is a stranger Michael. He does not remember anything about himself, and asks the owners to stay in their house for the night. They agree, although they perceive his request not very willingly. But very soon, a calm pastime turns into a nightmare when animatronics begin to appear in the house. Now, the hero needs to do everything possible to just save his life.

In one of the introductory KAT scenes, when the protagonist communicates with his colleague in the walkie-talkie, he explains how to confront creatures. The longer it maintains visual contact, the more they affect it. In total, 5 levels are represented here, each of which differs from the previous one in design, as well as mechanics that gamer can use. Most of the gameplay is the usual actions like the search for the necessary objects and ways to exit the specific zone, as well as the flight from animatronics. Sometimes, their appearance is a complete surprise for the gamer, and you have to react instantly. Thanks to these and other mechanics, the game catchs fear and creates a tense atmosphere, withdrawing the user from the comfort zone.
