The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky takes users to a fictional world, namely the kingdom of Liberl. Ten years before the events described, these places were destroyed during the war with the Erebonia Empire, and now there are only ruins and fragments of civilization. One of the characters named Cassius, being a general in the Liberl army, raises two children who are preparing to join the ranks of the organization for the protection of the population. But at one point, Cassius disappears during a visit to the capital. Now, the heroes have to go in search of him, facing numerous difficulties.

When playing through The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, it becomes clear that the in-game world is truly huge. Heroes travel to various locations, including castles and dungeons, visiting merchants' shops and participating in battles. Moreover, battles can concern both plot fragments of the story and third-party quests from non-playable units. Due to them, you can significantly speed up the pumping process. The total completion time is about 50 hours, so gamers will not have any difficulties in achieving the desired degree of hero development. At the same time, absolutely every unit that you can meet is a full-fledged part of history with a name, biography and purpose in life.

The combat system is turn-based, allowing you to switch between group members. Each of them will have their own weapons and a set of skills that can be alternated in battle. For example, first there is an attack with a blade or a spear, and then a blow using magic. When the choice falls on one or another fighter, a graph with his characteristics, including health and mana, is immediately displayed on the screen. Due to this, you can control the course of the battle, without allowing someone from the squad to significantly sag in resources.
