Action The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel takes place in the Erebonian Empire. The plot is centered around Rean Schwarzer and his comrades, from a military academy where both representatives of the nobility and ordinary people study, without division by social status. During the entire process, the player will have to sit at the school bench with the main character, paying special attention to work in the field. The boys will be sent to different cities and regions of Erebonia for the class to witness first-hand the reality of the Empire, as the power struggle between the aristocratic nobility and the working class reformists led by Chancellor Giliath Osborne threatens to lead to civil war. At the same time, the academy students begin to frequently clash with a terrorist group later known as the Imperial Liberation Front, led by an unknown masked leader.

The gameplay of Trails of Cold Steel revolves around turn-based battles. By combining characters in pairs, you can create a special Bond that will increase the enemy’s damage, as well as granting other benefits. The main goal is to destroy enemies and save the empire from the overthrow of power, while developing characters who, by the end of the game, must achieve maximum skill. In between battles, the player can go through several mini-games, for completing which you can receive bonuses.
