The Messenger is a story about a ninja who always strives for adventure. The village is preparing for an attack by terrible demons. They train day and night, because sooner or later a messenger on a fiery bird must arrive. He will give the best warrior a mysterious scroll, which must be taken to the top of the mountain, after going through many dangerous tests. This prophecy has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries. One day the main character came to another training session, but the training never took place because a demon attacked his village and killed all the inhabitants. Only the protagonist remained alive, and when he was already preparing for death, the same man on the bird appeared and handed him a scroll. Having reached the end of his journey and finding an ancient temple in the mountains, the hero learns that the world in which he lives is much larger, and the scroll is actually a map. And now, with its help, the protagonist must find certain “notes” to launch the music box, which will break the curse.

The Messenger is a labor of love between metroidvania and platforming. At the very beginning, the main character must move only to the right, while simultaneously mastering the controls. He can double jump, climb walls, and glide while falling and in air currents. After the ninja hits an enemy, he will be able to dash and move further. The game features time travel. Passing through portals, the hero finds himself both in the past and in the future. At the same time, the graphics also change from eight-bit to sixteen-bit. Each time era is characterized by its own environment, and if in one period there is an iron door, then in another it has not even been installed yet.
