The Pioneers: surviving desolation takes the player to 2084, when humanity decided to colonize space. Jupiter's satellite Io, which has harsh conditions, was chosen as the first such object. In the survival simulator, the player will have to take command of the Io-1 mission and build a base in a place that is not intended for life. This celestial body is characterized by extreme temperatures, volcanic activity, earthquakes and magnetic storms.

The station in The Pioneers: surviving desolation will have to be equipped by a team of three people. At the beginning of each mission, the player will be given 3 randomly selected characters and 15 available. The complexity stems from the fact that each employee has his own strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, to complete tasks you will have to constantly adapt to the conditions set by the plot. An important element of the gameplay will be the rapid reconstruction of the base using the wreckage of the ship and the search for technologies to create building materials and food.

In addition, it is necessary to constantly expand the station premises, developing engineering systems. The development of vital wearable equipment will also play a significant role in survival. There are several biomes on the satellite, each with their own dangers and types of resources available. Therefore, reaching the surface of Io should be carried out only after careful preparation. Sometimes events will happen to the heroes in which the player needs to make fateful decisions.
