The setting is the distant future, in which humanity has made a technological leap and achieved full-scale exploration of space and distant planets suitable for life.

The game incorporates action and role-playing adventure mechanics. They create the need to upgrade your own army and virtual protégé to gain advantages over numerous enemies. The main character is one of the riftbreakers named Ashley Novak – she is a scientist and military man who moves and fights opponents in huge mecha armor with a bunch of weapons on board.

The single-player campaign begins with the protagonist passing through a portal to the planet Galatea-37, located on the edge of the Milky Way. Studies conducted from Earth have shown the presence of a suitable atmosphere, many natural resources under the soil and other indicators that indicate the feasibility of creating a colony there. Upon arrival, the protagonist notices a huge number of enemy creatures that are eager to defend their territory. By destroying them during the defense of the base, the gamer gets a chance to pick up alien artifacts from them that strengthen Ashley.
