Gameplay Tile Travel combines puzzle and platforming elements with a top-down perspective. The player will control the main character, who uses a huge ax to overcome obstacles and interact with the environment. The main task in the passage is to get to the control points, overcoming various obstacles and solving puzzles. Gradually, logical tasks and mechanics become more complex.

Gameplay starts with a side-scrolling style perspective and then changes to a top-down view. In the adventure, the protagonist is able to jump over danger and surrounding objects, as well as move some objects. As you progress, additional mechanics or previously unencountered difficulties appear. They make the passage more varied and difficult.

After reaching a certain stage in the campaign, the gamer will have access to a fully three-dimensional environment mode. This will create new opportunities for interaction and overcoming dangers. The game consists of 14+ levels with entrance and exit, as well as deadly dangers that start the session all over again. The perspective changes depending on the location of the central character. As soon as it touches the ground, observation of it begins from above. Many of the tasks or elements encountered along the way are surreal and not subject to the standard laws of physics.
