Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas is a tactical shooter that continues the franchise that was born with the direct participation of Tom Clancy. This part did not deviate from the usual mechanics of the series, but only develops their ideas, adding as much variability as possible to the gamer in solving certain tasks related to eliminating the threat from terrorists. The project was made using the 3rd generation Unreal Engine, which provides high-quality images with many effects for displaying natural conditions, glare, and the like.

For the first time in the franchise, the controlled character has a life bar that automatically regenerates when the main character is not hit. This somewhat affected the gameplay, but made it possible to lower the barrier to entry for less experienced people. Also, among the changes compared to its predecessors, the improved artificial intelligence of both enemies and allies and the destructibility of most walls stand out. New ways to storm buildings have emerged, such as climbing on a cable and breaking through a window.

The storyline takes place in an alternate 2010. All tasks present in the campaign can be completed in co-op with friends. The main characters are operatives of the Rainbow Division – Logan Keller, Gabriel Novak and Kan Akahashi. They were sent to the Mexican border to carry out a set of operations to capture a terrorist leader named Irene Morales. In total, there are 6 operations in the campaign, and there are other modes, for example, “Hunt for Terrorists.”
