Total War: WARHAMMER combines several mechanics inherent in strategic projects. Here, events occur in real time, but actions are carried out step-by-step. And given the fact that gamers will have to take part in a large-scale war, covering huge parts of space, every mechanic will be fully realized. At the beginning, the system offers to choose one of 5 available races: vampires, green-skinned guys of Grimorg, representatives of the empire, gnomes and residents of Bretonnia. Each race is assigned commanders and generals professing different styles of combat. With the help of these lords, commanders and other individuals, you can gain access to new branches of troops and unlock some functions.

At the same time, the passage of Total War: WARHAMMER is not limited to just the story campaign. In this part of the series, tasks were added that were battles in designated locations. Depending on the chosen race, the user will be able to try out different gaming styles, which are implemented by using the skills of the provided units. In the campaign mode, this aspect is implemented much more widely, because the user can study new technologies, thereby improving combat tactics. In addition, attention is not focused solely on combat operations – a leadership aspect has also been implemented, where you need to collect taxes and control life in the territories captured or initially accessible. Moving around the map has also undergone changes – tunnels have appeared, which, however, are only accessible to gnomes and greenskins. This mechanic allows you to save a significant amount of time by getting behind enemy lines or simply choosing a more advantageous position.
