Touhou Mystia's Izakaya is a restaurant management simulator in Gensokyo, where you play as a cute girl, Yosuzume (night sparrow). Mystia's story is revealed in a short tutorial, from which the player learns that one day a dissatisfied client managed to ruin the career of a young manager. Since then, the heroine had to rebuild her business in order to pay off the powerful Yakumo family and build the izakaya of her dreams.

The youkai from Touhou Mystia's Izakaya has a lot to do throughout the day:

• Morning. To prepare for receiving visitors, the heroine must collect the freshest and highest quality ingredients in the city. From 10:00 until opening, the player will walk around the map, looking for tidbits. You will have to communicate with traders and negotiate prices or collect products yourself. For example, there are areas in the water where there are a lot of fish and algae. Each collection will take half an hour, but wandering around the world itself will not take away precious minutes.
• Evening. The restaurant opens after 18:00, so you need to have time to choose the menu that will be available that day. At first the selection will be modest, but as the izakaya develops, more interesting recipes will appear.

The more successful the establishment becomes, the more rare visitors will appear at the tables. These whims have special preferences that must be satisfied, otherwise they may receive an unpleasant punishment. You don't have to follow the instructions to cook a good dish. Sometimes it's better to rely on your own culinary instincts. By creating new combinations, you can satisfy customer tastes and evoke a positive reaction. Often, cooking will be accompanied by a mini-game, the successful completion of which determines the quality of the dish.
