Town of Salem is a multiplayer online strategy based on elements of social deduction. The developers were inspired by party games like “Mafia” or “Werewolf”. Before the match, each participant secretly receives his own role and does not know what the other players got. There are 2 teams in total fighting each other. Their task is to gain control of the city and stay alive until the end of the session.

Users can use a combination of role-playing skills such as teamwork, communication, deduction, deception, and other functions to facilitate goal achievement. In the main game there are 3 squads: citizens, mafia and neutrality. Gamers accidentally get a role that the rest of the participants don't know about. The mafia needs to eliminate all civilians, and the townspeople need, on the contrary, to survive and destroy the bandits. The neutral role independently chooses goals and sides, can harm, help, conflict or observe what is happening.

The match consists of rounds alternating between days and nights. Most users will receive original abilities that are used only at night. Their skills will allow you to protect the other participant from death and find out his true identity. At night, the mafia is capable of killing one of its opponents. Making notes in a will will help civilians discover clues or identify correct information. What is said before death is revealed during the day.
