Turok – a three-dimensional game that brought new developments in the 3D direction of the gaming industry. It has good animations of the physics of advancement and death (for that time). After receiving critical damage, the enemy freezes for a split second and falls, covering the bleeding wound with his hand. For the first time, a swimming unit with realistic body movements has been introduced. Enemies, fighting with the protagonist, may accidentally hit their allies, and the latter will receive damage and may even die.

The story of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter is based on the comic books of the same name. The main character is Tal-Set, a warrior of the Indian tribe, which is very well conveyed by his attire and appearance (long braided black hair with feathers inserted into it, a bare torso, and various accessories on the body that are characteristic of this nation). As a weapon, he has a bow and arrows, which is also canonical. He found himself in an isolated canyon inhabited by dinosaurs and other enemies: military men and fighters. The main goal is to kill the threat and get out of this dangerous place.

Almost immediately the protagonist is given a bayonet, a knife and a firearm – a pistol with cartridges. The first levels are easy, designed to get the player used to the new mechanics. At this time, the enemies are weak and the lizards are small, they run towards the hero and can be easily killed with one swing of the blade. But this is only at the first steps, then the dummies become smarter, they have guns, and the amount of health increases. There are keys hidden at the levels that open doors for further passage.
